Graphic Requirements

• Ads can be designed in InDesign 3 (preferably) or in Quark Xpress 5.
• Any PageMaker version is acceptable.
• Images (photos) should be Adobe Photoshop EPS at least 200 DPI if they are at same (not or larger) publication size in the CMYK mode.
• Adobe Illustrator texts should be in Outlines.
• EPS or Adobe Illustrator files should have texts converted into curves.
• We accept CorelDraw files converted into EPS and should include FONTS.
• Photoshop EPS files resolution 200 DPI in CMYK format are also acceptable. (Texts may not appear well).
• We also accept PDF (Press quality) files generated from artworks with texts converted into curves and with Adobe Photoshop images in CMYK (If being submitted via e-mail)
• JPG files (The less desirable format) Resolution 200 DPI in CMYK format, are also acceptable. (Black texts may not appear well).

Contract and Payment Information

 

STEP 1

Submit your artwork. If you need assistance with the design of your ad, we can provide you with graphic design services (Click here). Your artwork must be approved first by our graphic design services department for printing before proceeding to STEP 2.

 

STEP 2          

(R)egistered Advertising Contract Form is issued outlining the terms of the agreed upon advertising contract between the client and one of our representatives. The client is expected to issue the legal acceptance of the terms of the contract by acknowledging the receipt of the (R)egistered Advertising Contract Form.

 

STEP 3          

The client makes the first payment as prescribed by the (R)egistered Advertising Contract Form. Deposit the indicated amount to the bank account of SUPLEX S.A., Banco Nacional de Costa Rica, Bank Account Nr 200-02-015-005637-9 (dollar account). Fax proof of deposit to 290-7213. Costa Rican checks are also accepted and should be written to SUPLEX S.A.

 

Once a confirmation of deposit has been received, the financial department issues an authorization to the production department to publish the client’s ad.

 

STEP 4           

Ad is published. Each client will receive a notification every time his ad is published.

 

 

NOTES

No advertisement will be published until deposit has been made and proof of the deposit submitted to The Journal. Proof can be submitted via e-mail, fax, or verbally over the telephone.

 

The Journal cannot be held legally responsible for not publishing a client’s ad the following week if the client does not provide a proof of deposit by Thursday 5 p.m.
